Five Players That Need To Improve

Jeremy Lamb:
He needs to be the primary scorer and will be the focal point of team’s defenses. He has a nice jumper and a nasty floater, but he needs to get to the line more and to do that he needs to bulk up. If he can use his length and create shots with a post-up game, then he will have the complete package.

Roscoe Smith: The wing position is always the hardest to master and Roscoe struggled mightily. He needs to become more consistent in the rebounding department, because if he is getting boards then his offense follows suit. He doesn’t have a horrible shot but they tend to be long, and he settles for the outside shot too much. He needs to master the 15-footer, because that is the shot that is going to be there the most for him, but a post game would be helpful.

Alex Oriakhi: Post game, post game, post game. He is going to be the only proven post player and he struggled there. If he can consistently knock down the baby hook or take it strong to the basket, then it will open up the perimeter shooters. While his rebounding numbers are solid, he has the potential to be a monster if he can put a body on his defender instead of ball watching.

Shabazz Napier: He needs to make the simple play and limit the sloppy and lazy passes. He also needs to diversify his offense. He has a tremendous first step but settles too much for the three pointer. If he can attack the lanes more and get to the line, it will open up the offense more. He also needs to stop gambling to much on defense. His backward swipes on the ball puts too much pressure on the help defense and can cause lazy fouls twenty feet away from the basket.

Neils Giffey: He needs to settle into his role, a spot up shooter. No dribble penetration, just catch and shoot. If he can consistently knock down the three pointer, rebound, and play solid defense, then he should be a solid part of the rotation. If he does put the ball on the floor, it has to be for a mid-ranged jumper.
